PAINT CORRECTION

Polish away scratches and small imperfections to restore a glossy shine

The paint on your car is actually several layers of different materials. Starting with the metal of the car, next is a layer of rust inhibitor, then a layer of primer, next is the paint color of your car, and lastly the all-important clear coat.

The clear coat is what gives your car that wonderful shiny appearance that you’re so proud of. However, the clear coat is fragile and can damage easily. Road debris, automatic car washes or even hand washing improperly will cause noticeable marks, scratches and swirls. Even sprinkler systems leave terrible water marks, bird droppings, tree sap, and countless other environmental issues can damage your clear coat.

Paint Correction is a multistep polishing process designed to fix this damage by “leveling out” the surface of the clear coat and essentially erasing all but the most severe damage. Severe damage may be too deep (or has penetrated the clear coat) to safely correct without risking the removal of too much clear coat, so this type of damage will be reduced as much as possible.

Here, at Rocky’s Ultimate Garage, we use the Rupes paint correction system. Rupes is an Italian company that revolutionized the method of restoring the finish of automotive paint.

In our skilled hands, Rupes orbital polishers with matching specialized compounds and polishes are skillfully applied to the car’s surface to “correct” the damaged clear coat and restore your car’s paint to its original (or better) shine. This process is best in class and we know you will be impressed with the results.

When you authorize us to do this work, please be patient. The paint correction process can take anywhere from 5 to 30 hours to complete depending the amount of damage and to what level the clear coat will withstand the paint correction process.

Please know, damage that has penetrated the clear coat such as rock chips, can be repaired by a separate “paint chip” repair process that is not part of the paint correction process.
