A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your clear coat. Once cured, it beads water, resists chemicals and bird droppings, and stops the sun from slowly baking the finish. Dirt has a harder time sticking. A quick rinse does what a full wash used to do.
What a coating will not do
It will not stop rock chips. Ceramic is measured in microns, and a highway stone does not care. If chips are the worry, paint protection film is the right tool. Many of our customers combine the two: PPF on the front end, ceramic over the whole car.
When it makes sense
You park outside. You wash the car yourself. You plan to keep it more than two years. Any one of these makes the math work, because a coating costs far less than a respray or the resale hit from tired paint.
